Homeschool Teens Wanted for Research on Moral and Civic Development

Jeffrey Dill, a professor at Eastern University in Virginia, is conducting a study “of moral and civic education in high schools. The project seeks to understand the various ways that high schools influence the life direction of students, especially regarding moral and civic development. “

Professor Dill wants to include a variety of homeschoolers in this study and if you are interested please read the details below and contact Prof. Dill.

Participation Details

We are recruiting homeschool families with students ages 13-18 to participate in this study.

Timing and extent of participation: During 2013 and 2014, members of the research team will make one or two visits to participating families to observe various educational activities at home, on field trips, in co-op group meetings, etc.

Researchers will also conduct personal interviews (approximately 1 hour) with parents and students that will focus on their homeschool experiences and how these experiences have shaped the student’s moral and civic outlooks.

Participants are assured full confidentiality. No personal or identifying information will be shared after fieldwork is complete.
