A Call for GWS Volunteers

Volunteers are needed to help work on publishing Holt's Growing Without Schooling as a print and e-book. For your efforts, you will be mentioned in the acknowledgement section of the book.

Pat Farenga, Carlo Ricci, and Steve Tedesco are working to publish in book form and as an e-book the magazine John Holt started (Growing Without Schooling). To date we have made progress with help, but it has become clear that if we want to complete this in a timelier manner we need more help. In order to do this we need to convert the PDF files that we have into Word documents. This is not difficult, but time consuming. It can take 6 or 7 hours per issue and we will offer support throughout and we will send you a straightforward 11 min training video to explain how to do it (see above)—we are hoping that we get enough people so that each person would volunteer to convert one issue. IT IS REALLY EASY, but time consuming and that is why we need the help. As well, if you get stuck we will always be available to help and answer questions.

For your efforts, you will be mentioned in the acknowledgement section of the book. You would need to have access to the Internet, Adobe PDF Reader to open PDFs (this is free software), and Word. We are looking for about 30 or 40 volunteers on a first come, first allocated basis. Without your help, we doubt that this important work can be completed.
